  • We are happy to receive your feedback! Event 19 May 2016

    Invitation to complete the questionnaire available here.

  • Questionnaire “Developments affecting the design of short- and long term markets”.

    Two weeks ago the European Commission published its “summer package” including the long awaited consultative communication on market design. The Market4RES project consortium started its work last year and, after identifying the market barriers for renewables (more information and complete documents on the Result page), we are working on providing recommendations on the most important developments to take place in short- and long term electricity markets that will ensure an efficient integration of large amounts of RES generation.

    We are now reaching out to you for input to a carefully designed questionnaire aimed at collecting useful feedback from relevant stakeholders on a set of issues related to the design of markets that we believe are especially critical, controversial, or disputable.

    Those options selected as most promising will be further investigated later in our project with the help of quantitative models to determine which deserve being proposed for their implementation.

    If you feel like answering only a specific part of the questionnaire because this is more the most related to your field expertise, do not hesitate to do so.

    We count on your participation to provide us with very valuable information to take into account in our final analysis and conclusions. The questionnaire will be open for input until Friday 4th September 2015.

    Part I: CAPACITY REMUNERATION MECHANISMS;

    Part II: LONG-TERM MARKETS (NATIONAL AND CROSS-BORDER);

    Part III: SUPPORT TO RES (BOTH LONG AND SHORT TERM);

    Part IV: DEMAND SIDE RESPONSE (BOTH LONG AND SHORT TERM);

    Part V: REPRESENTATION OF THE NETWORK IN MARKETS;

    Part VI: TIMING OF MARKETS;

    Part VII: BIDDING PROTOCOLS AND PRICING RULES;

    Part VIII: BALANCING MARKETS.

    Many thanks on behalf of the Market4RES project.

  • Detailed specifications of the studies that will be performed within Market4RES WP4 with the OPTIMATE prototype simulation platform to analyse and compare selected short-term electricity market architecture options based on quantitative indicators relying on the three pillars of the European energy policy (economic efficiency, Security of Supply, Sustainability): D4.1 Specifications of the most adequate options for flexibility markets and RES support schemes to be studied in a cross-border context (May 2015).

The Market4RES consortium ran a public written consultation about this report. Results will be published here soon. Your participation is pushing the project forward!

  • In 2014 the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) ran a public consultation on the green paper «Energy Regulation: A Bridge to 2025». Market4RES has replied to it with this paper.
